As they say, work and leisure go side by side. And, that’s the way to maintain the equilibrium in between hectic travels, heavy meetings & long commuting hours, we do need a comfortable halt or rather comfort of home while resting. When I checked into Howard Johnson Hotel, the first glimpse gave me a sense of comfort & style.
When it comes to business hotels, I always had the experience of small compact rooms, less aesthetic, minimum luxury, budget or standard amenities and most of all below-average bathrooms. I feel it is very important to understand that comfort and class is of paramount importance to all segment of travellers. Even in business hotels where the guest is staying for a short duration or whatever, they would prefer the comfort with decent. The hotel is about 11 minutes from Kolkata Airport & 15 mins from salt lake metro. One can always find malls, supermarkets and as well as nightlife spots at a stone’s throw distance. It has an all-day dining restaurant -The Nest which serves all the international cuisine & variety of options.

I checked in to their junior suite which was very spacious & airy. It has a sitting area, large bed, study table and a minibar just to name a few. Oh, what I loved the most was the huge bathroom which has a bathtub and a shower area separate. The minibar suffices for the general requirement. The check-in was smooth as they offered me a welcome drink. As soon as I walked in, I could sense that these suites are for the indulgent travellers with lush & vibrant tones of the room aesthetics which complemented with the furnishing, I would say that the decor can compete with any upscale 5-star property room.
I had a sumptuous buffet lunch and dinner at their in-house restaurant -The Nest, which is also a 24-hour dining place. The chef and staffs were highly cooperative and friendly as they could also cater to the customization needs of every guest. So, one can get a flavour of Bengal with a hint of international taste to cater for every type of need. Guests can also enjoy the delectable dishes in the comfort of contemporary comfort, either indoors or in the expansive restaurant. I was actually impressed with their complimentary buffet breakfast which had a wide range of choices and some fresh fruits to choose from.
